My Other Side

 I told you to stop,
They're not goin to love you,
They're never goin to see how special you are,
I told you it was a bad idea to tell your story,
They won't listen to what you have to say,
They won't care if you are a good person,
I told you what you see in the mirror isn't beautiful,
They don't see your beauty nor do they want to,
They are telling you the truth and you need to believe it,
I told you no one wants you for real,
They just tell you they do just to get close to the people you love,
They just want sex from you,
I told you to give up,
They don't care about you,
They're only here to take away your light,
I told you all of this and yet you haven't stopped,
You're telling your story to those that will listen,
You're believing that you are special,
You're seeing that you're beautiful,
You're living your life the best you can,
And even though I'm always in the back of your mind,
You continue to be a blessing and wonderful person to others that are just like or worse than you,
I maybe the dark side of you,
But you are the light to my other side.
